Judgement - Day 58

Jeremiah 48:11 - Lamentations 1:22

Judgement is past out to the nations that are the enemies of God's people. Moab, Ammon, Edom, Damascus, Kedar, Elam and finally Babylon.

Israel has also sinned against God but he tells them they will not be forsaken.

"For Israel hath not been forsaken, nor Judah of his God, of the Lord of hosts; though their land was filled with sin against the Holy One of Israel." Jeremiah 51:5

Some people have to learn by making the mistakes. Others learn by the mistakes of others. I am reading this section just praying that I will learn from their mistakes. I am so thankful for God's plan of Salvation and his gift that is free to all.

God's Wrath - Day 57

Jeremiah 33:23 - Jeremiah 47:7

Israel is provoking God to anger.

"Because of their wickedness which they have committed to provoke me to anger, in that they went to burn incense, and to serve other gods, whom they knew not, neither they, ye, nor your fathers." Jeremiah 44:3

With the works of their hands they are provoking God to wrath.

"In that ye provoke me unto wrath with the works of your hands, burning incense unto other gods in the land of Egypt, whither ye be gone to dwell, that ye might cut yourselves off, and that ye might be a curse and a reproach among all the nations of the earth?"
Jeremiah 44:8

God will correct his people over time.

"Fear thou not, O Jacob my servant, saith the Lord: for I am with thee; for I will make a full end of all the nations whither I have driven thee: but I will not make a full end of thee, but correct thee in measure; yet will I not leave thee wholly unpunished." Jeremiah 46:28

I am just overwhelmed with the immensity of God's power and his wrath on his own people. It just makes me so thankful that I will not have to face it myself. I am glad I am on the winning side.

Thoughts of peace - Day 56

Jeremiah 23:9 - Jeremiah 33:22

"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end." Jeremiah 29:11

It is very important that we are reading what God actually said to his people. By misunderstanding God we set ourselves up for disappointment with God.

This verse does not say that God has plans for us for good. It says that he has thoughts and those thoughts are of peace. I have experienced chaos with an underlining peace that God was still in control.

All that happens to us is not good but we  can have peace that God is right here with us and He knows how it will end, which will help us get through the trial we are going through. Who would have thought that God really wanted Israel to get settled in at Babylon and not fight and get out.

"Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not." Jeremiah 33:3

If the people of Israel would not believe Jeremiah then how can we think we can figure out God and what he wants for our life. What we can find comfort in is that there is peace in knowing that God thoughts toward us are for peace. Peace, peace, wonderful peace.

Done With Sin - Day 55

Jeremiah 10 :14 - Jeremiah 23:8

I am really starting to get a sense of God's hatred for sin.

"Therefore thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will bring evil upon them, which they shall not be able to escape; and though they shall cry unto me, I will not hearken unto them." Jeremiah 11:11

I am also seeing his wrath and anger.

"But if they will not obey, I will utterly pluck up and destroy that nation, saith the Lord." Jeremiah 12:17

God wants to do them good but they do not know the God that is speaking to them.

"Therefore, behold, I will this once cause them to know, I will cause them to know mine hand and my might; and they shall know that my name is The Lord." Jeremiah 16:21

I have areas in my life that I have not surrendered to the Lord. I know I do not have his wrath to detour me. Though the consequences of life keep me somewhat in line. I need to trust God and give all my life to him. Am I done with sin yet?

Thanks to Calvary - Day 54

Isaiah 66:19 - Jeremiah 10:13

The people are just purposely walking around doing their own thing.

"The priests said not, Where is the Lord? and they that handle the law knew me not: the pastors also transgressed against me, and the prophets prophesied by Baal, and walked after things that do not profit." Jeremiah 2:8

They didn't believe the Lord was going to punish them for their sins.

"They have belied the Lord, and said, It is not he; neither shall evil come upon us; neither shall we see sword nor famine:" Jeremiah 5:12

          They loved sin.

"The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it so: and what will ye do in the end thereof?" Jeremiah 5:31

Even the pastors did not care enough to tell the truth and guide people in the way of the Lord.

"For the pastors are become brutish, and have not sought the Lord: therefore they shall not prosper, and all their flocks shall be scattered." Jeremiah 10:21

I do not know God's wrath. We do not know God's wrath. We have been under grace and mercy because of Jesus. They had seen his wrath but they did not care. I want to serve God even though I will never see his wrath. Thanks to Calvary.

God's Word - Day 53

Isaiah 52:13 - Isaiah 66:18

I work in the area of customer service. I speak with people on the phone and also in person. I am mostly explaining to my customers their responsibilities concerning government aid. For the most part, my customers use as their excuse for their lack of responsibility is that no one told them. They would have have done this or that but no one told them. My words and my co-worker's words go out void.

"So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it." Isaiah 55:11

That is not so when God speaks. His word accomplishes just what it was set out to do. That is how mighty our God is and we just can not wrap our brain around that kind of power and control. I know I do not comprehend it. I am so glad that God is in charge. I am glad he gets his way. I am glad on am on his side.

I Am He - Day 52

Isaiah 41:19 - Isaiah 52:12

God keeps telling us over and over again.

"Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me." Isaiah 43:10

"Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God." Isaiah 44:6

"I am the Lord, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me:" Isaiah 45:5

"Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me," Isaiah 46:9

"Therefore hear now this, thou that art given to pleasures, that dwellest carelessly, that sayest in thine heart, I am, and none else beside me; I shall not sit as a widow, neither shall I know the loss of children:" Isaiah 47:8

"Therefore my people shall know my name: therefore they shall know in that day that I am he that doth speak: behold, it is I."
Isaiah 52:6

I need to remember who I serve and who has my hand. Who knows my future and can guide my steps. I need to learn of the God that I serve.

To God be the Glory - Day 51

Isaiah 29:1 - Isaiah 41:18

We read about the Assyrians coming and taking the cities of Judah.

"Now it came to pass in the fourteenth year of king Hezekiah, that Sennacherib king of Assyria came up against all the defenced cities of Judah, and took them." Isaiah 36:1

However, in the end, the Lord fights the battle by killing the Assyrians. When the king of Assyria  goes to the house of his god to worship, he is murdered by his own sons.

"And it came to pass, as he was worshipping in the house of Nisroch his god, that Adrammelech and Sharezer his sons smote him with the sword; and they escaped into the land of Armenia: and Esarhaddon his son reigned in his stead." Isaiah 37:38

Everything happens to give God the glory.

"That they may see, and know, and consider, and understand together, that the hand of the Lord hath done this, and the Holy One of Israel hath created it." Isaiah 41:20

In all that I do today, help me to point others to You and give You the glory for all that happens in my life.

Lucifer - Day 50

Isaiah 14:1 - Isaiah 28:29

We do not know about God and the immensity of his power and majesty. All that He has created and destroyed and His power over death and hell. If we did realize his power we would trust him more and pray believing he would answer.

"At that day shall a man look to his Maker, and his eyes shall have respect to the Holy One of Israel." Isaiah 17:7

There is also another power that we under estimate and that is Satan. Lucifer as he is called in Isaiah. Other versions of the Bible even take the name Lucifer out because the world does not want you to realize his power. Lucifer wants you to under estimate what he is capable of or even to blame yourself for lack of self control. What we really need to do is to call on God and use his Word the King James Bible to relinquish his power over our lives. However, when Lucifer is in hell, we will be amazed that he is brought down so low from being so powerful.

"Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.
They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;" Isaiah 14:15,16

Our God is mighty and He created Lucifer. He will cast him down. We need to remember who our Father is and we need to remember that we know how it all ends. We are on the winning side.

"This also cometh forth from the Lord of hosts, which is wonderful in counsel, and excellent in working." Isaiah 28:29

Anger - Day 49

   Isaiah 1:1 - Isaiah 13:22

Isaiah is expressing in very descriptive words how God is feeling towards Israel and their fake worship with him. They play in sin and then come to his house for worship acting like everything is fine. They left their hands in prayer and he does not hear them. Their sacrifices are pointless.

"To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? saith the Lord: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats.
When ye come to appear before me, who hath required this at your hand, to tread my courts?" Isaiah 1:11-12

God wants our hearts. He wants us to want to be with him and live for him all week long. To desire his dreams for our lives. We can play around with our Christianity but we are only fooling ourselves. God knows our sincerity when we come before him at home or when we go to church.

Power - Day 48

Ecclesiastes 3:1 - Song of Solomon 8:14

Whose Got the Power?

We want to be empowered so can speak up for ourselves or others. We want to defend those who cannot defend themselves. In my experience, power is being used by people to their own demise.

When you have all the power, you have no comforter.

"So I returned, and considered all the oppressions that are done under the sun: and behold the tears of such as were oppressed, and they had no comforter; and on the side of their oppressors there was power; but they had no comforter." Ecc. 4:1

When you have power over some one else it is to your hurt.

"All this have I seen, and applied my heart unto every work that is done under the sun: there is a time wherein one man ruleth over another to his own hurt." Ecc. 8:9

Instead of worrying about who has the power, we need to concern ourselves with living a life that is pleasing to God. Sometimes that means relinquishing the "power" to some one else. Jesus did not seem to concern himself with all the power he had. He came to seek and to save and not to show every one that he had the power. Which we all know he did.

On a lighter note, here is my thoughts on Song of Solomon.

Parents Rejoicing - Day 47

Proverbs 20:22 -  Ecclesiastes 2:26

Proverbs speaks of wisdom. How to get wisdom and how not to get wisdom. The verses that stood out to me were how it feels when your children finally get wisdom. It causes rejoicing.

"My son, if thine heart be wise, my heart shall rejoice, even mine." Proverbs 23:15

"Whoso loveth wisdom rejoiceth his father:" Proverbs 29:3a

I want my children to grow up and make wise decisions because it will be good for them and make their life better. Also knowing that it will bring me joy is icing on the cake.

Good - Day 46

Proverbs 7:1 - Proverbs 20:21

This section of reading has over all themes but they are carried out with verses of little bits of wisdom. Each verse could almost stand on its own. I want to point out the benefits of doing good.

Doing good is favorable.

"He that diligently seeketh good procureth favour: but he that seeketh mischief, it shall come unto him." Proverbs 11:27

Doing good is favorable with God.

"A good man obtaineth favour of the Lord: but a man of wicked devices will he condemn." Proverbs 12:2

God sees the good.

"The eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding the evil and the good." Proverbs 15:3

There are rewards for doing good.

"He that getteth wisdom loveth his own soul: he that keepeth understanding shall find good." Proverbs 19:8

There are a multitude of benefits for good behavior. They are not instantaneous which may not be pleasing to our instant gratification society but they are well worth the wait. That is when the wisdom comes in to play. Living a good life pays off and God makes it clear he is watching us and beholding our good. It is not the easy way but it is clearly God's way.

Half Way - Day 45

Psalm 135:1 - Proverbs 6:35

Finishing the Psalms was full of praising the Lord and giving thanks to him. We serve such a great and mighty God.

Psalm 150

Praise ye the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power.
Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness.
Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp.
Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs.
Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals.
Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.

Proverbs is a book of wisdom. How to get it and realize its value.

"Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding." Proverbs 4:7

This journey through the Bible has been incredible. I always read something (a lot of things) new that I did not see before when reading the Bible. I was hesitant to start this but I am so glad I did. Reading the Bible this rapidly gives me an over view of what is going on in the Bible but also I get precious nuggets that relate to experiences that are going on in my life. The King James Bible is a living book. I am looking forward to the second half of this 90 day read through.

Right Hand - Day 44

Psalm 109:1 - Psalm 134:3
David is very graphic in his prayers. He really wants his enemies to suffer for what they have done to David and/or the Lord. David wants a wicked man to be as his enemy's god and Satan to be at his right hand.

"Set thou a wicked man over him: and let Satan stand at his right hand." Psalm 109:6

Wow, I want to stay on David's good side.

Mercy - Day 43

Psalm 89:14 - Psalm 108:13

Without mercy we would perish. We would have no hope. God knows who we are.

"For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust."
Psalm 103:14

God repeats this next verse 4 times in this section:

"Then they cried unto the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses." Psalm 107: 6, 13, 19, 28

God repeats this next verse 4 times:

"Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!" Psalm 107: 8, 15, 21, 31

          Then in conclusion God says:

"Whoso is wise, and will observe these things, even they shall understand the lovingkindness of the Lord." Psalm 107:43

We will stumble and we will fall. We also will need to remember that God's mercy is there no matter what we do because he knows who we are. We need to turn to God when things are going good and we need to turn to God when we mess things up. He alone will get us through.

I Will Remember - Day 42

Psalm 69:22 - Psalm 89:13

The Psalmist in chapter 77 is coming to the Lord with a song of trouble and complaint (vs. 3).

He is wondering where God is and "is his mercy clean gone for ever?" (vs. 7)

Then  says that is my problem but God is still God and he is still good.

"And I said, This is my infirmity: but I will remember the years of the right hand of the most High.

I will remember the works of the Lord: surely I will remember thy wonders of old.
I will meditate also of all thy work, and talk of thy doings.
Thy way, O God, is in the sanctuary: who is so great a God as our God?

Thou art the God that doest wonders: thou hast declared thy strength among the people.
Thou hast with thine arm redeemed thy people, the sons of Jacob and Joseph. Selah.
The waters saw thee, O God, the waters saw thee; they were afraid: the depths also were troubled.

The clouds poured out water: the skies sent out a sound: thine arrows also went abroad.
The voice of thy thunder was in the heaven: the lightnings lightened the world: the earth trembled and shook.
Thy way is in the sea, and thy path in the great waters, and thy footsteps are not known.
Thou leddest thy people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron." Psalm 77:10-20

Because of the cross and Jesus's sacrifice I am able to boldly go to the throne of God and pray my heart and my feelings out no matter what they are. What I need to come back to in the end is that God is God. He is almighty and good. He has wisdom to know what is best for me and gives me blessings and strength before I even know what or how to ask. I need to remember that. It is about God. It is not about me.

Seek God - Day 41

Psalm 45:15 - Psalm 69:21

David seems to be distressed in the section of reading with his enemies, with Saul, and with his own sin.

"Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice." Ps. 51:8

David keeps seeking the Lord. He knows that as long as God is with him he will get through these trials.

"Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast." Ps. 57:1

Whether I have troubles or someone is out to see me hurt or even if it is because of my own sin, I need to learn from David and keep seeking God.

A To Do List - Day 40

Psalms 25:1 - Psalms 45:14

In this section of reading I focused on things that God would have me do.

"Shew me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths." Ps. 25:4

"Judge me, O Lord; for I have walked in mine integrity: I have trusted also in the Lord; therefore I shall not slide.
Examine me, O Lord, and prove me; try my reins and my heart." Ps. 26:1-2

"One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple." Ps. 27:4

"Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord." Ps. 27:14

"Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart." Ps. 32:11

"Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.
Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it." Ps. 34:13-14

"Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.

For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.

Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.

Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.

Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.

Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil." Ps. 37:1-8

This will be the result of working on the Lord's to do list:

"The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.
Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand." Ps. 37:23-24

Name It and Claim It - Day 39

Job 42:1 - Psalms 24:10

I have in the past come to the Psalms for comfort. There are a wide range of emotions represented here in this book; Rage, sorrow, fear, rejoicing, and gladness.

There are quite a few verses on how God will deliver the righteous and make the wicked pay. I tried to get comfort from those verses, assuming I was the righteous one and the other guy was the wicked. I took for granted that I knew how God would respond in my situation. I was greatly disappointed.

"But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.
I will sing unto the Lord, because he hath dealt bountifully with me." Psalms 13:5-6

I may never know how God is treating some else and I am foolish to think I know how God is dealing with someone by what I see going on in their life. I only know how God is treating me and sometimes I am not so sure about that. What I have learned is that God is hard to figure out in my life so how can I assume I know how he is treating some one else.

"The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether." Psalms 19:9

In the Psalms there are comparisons of the righteous and the wicked. The righteous being well taken care of and the wicked falling to shame. I am very cautious now to apply those verses to my life because I may never see the results, good or bad, that come from my decisions or some one else's. I do know that God is good and his judgements are true. That is where I will find my comfort.

Lots of Words, Little Wisdom - Day 38

Job 25:1 - Job 41:34

God allowed a lot of evil to happen to Job. It made Job look back on his life and see how things used  to be.

"Oh that I were as in months past, as in the days when God preserved me;" Job 29:2

Compared to how things are going now in his life.

"But now they that are younger than I have me in derision, whose fathers I would have disdained to have set with the dogs of my flock." Job 30:1

          But God knows Job.

"Let me be weighed in an even balance that God may know mine integrity." Job 31:6

God knows what he is doing in my life and in the life of my friends. As we all face difficult times, I need to be a comfort to my friends. Possibly just by being there for them and being silent.

God is Doing It - Day 37

Job 8:1 - Job 24:5

Job is going through a lot of different emotions.

"If I be wicked, woe unto me; and if I be righteous, yet will I not lift up my head. I am full of confusion; therefore see thou mine affliction;" Job 10:15

Job does not know what God is up to, yet, he knows to trust the Lord.

"Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him." Job 13:15

          With all the words spoken by Job's friends, this is really all we remember of them;

"I have heard many such things: miserable comforters are ye all." Job 16:2

Job may not have understood what God was doing but he knew that God was doing it.

"For he performeth the thing that is appointed for me: and many such things are with him." Job 23:14

We need to remember that all that happens, good or bad, it is all part of God's plan for our lives. It may be confusing and our friends may not understand why we are going through a trial but we need to keep our eyes on the Lord.

Power - Day 36

Nehemiah13:15 - Job 7:21

As a Christian woman we are taught to submit and obey, especially when it comes to marriage. If we are not careful we will not see the power that we hold just by being a woman.

When Queen Vashti disobeyed her husband and did not come when he called her, she did not realize who was watching her. The men in the court did. They knew that the women of the kingdom would do as she had done.

"For this deed of the queen shall come abroad unto all women, so that they shall despise their husbands in their eyes, when it shall be reported, The king Ahasuerus commanded Vashti the queen to be brought in before him, but she came not." Ester 1:17

I wonder if the Queen had realized that other women were watching her if she would have chosen differently. If she would have used her position to strengthen the home instead of tear it down.

Do you know that others are watching you? You may think, why would they watch me, I am not important or in a place of authority? People are watching how you raise your kids, they are watching you go to church every week. They are watching what you make a priority in your home. Right now, as you make the hard choices for the Lord's work you may be encouraging someone else to make those same choices in her home. If you quit, she may also.

The world is watching you also. Your neighbors know more about you than you think. You are a Christian and that makes people wonder what is different about you compared to them. Is there a difference?

Remember Me - Day 35

Nehemiah 1:1 - Nehemiah 13:14

Nehemiah was working for the king in Shushan and he receives word about the broken down walls of Jerusalem. That news brings him to his knees. He prays to God for forgiveness for Israel's sin and his own families sins.

"Let thine ear now be attentive, and thine eyes open, that thou mayest hear the prayer of thy servant, which I pray before thee now, day and night, for the children of Israel thy servants, and confess the sins of the children of Israel, which we have sinned against thee: both I and my father's house have sinned.
We have dealt very corruptly against thee, and have not kept the commandments, nor the statutes, nor the judgments, which thou commandedst thy servant Moses." Neh. 1:6-7

Nehemiah knows that God is not pleased with Israel but they need God's help getting this wall built back up. They get a lot of trouble from Sanballat and Tobiah but still they continue and the wall gets completed.

At the end of the book Nehemiah is praying to God and he says remember me for good.

"And for the wood offering, at times appointed, and for the firstfruits. Remember me, O my God, for good." Neh. 13:31

That would be my prayer to God, to remember me for the good I do not all the times I mess up and shame him. I thank God today for Jesus my Saviour.

Hard Work Day 34

II Chronicles 35:16 - Ezra 10:44

King Cyrus of Persia was moved to build the house of God in Jerusalem.

"Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, The Lord God of heaven hath given me all the kingdoms of the earth; and he hath charged me to build him an house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah." Ezra 1:2

When the people laid the foundation of the temple it caused such a stirr of emotions.

"But many of the priests and Levites and chief of the fathers, who were ancient men, that had seen the first house, when the foundation of this house was laid before their eyes, wept with a loud voice; and many shouted aloud for joy:
So that the people could not discern the noise of the shout of joy from the noise of the weeping of the people: for the people shouted with a loud shout, and the noise was heard afar off." Ezra 3:12-13

It was not easy but it got done.

"And this house was finished on the third day of the month Adar, which was in the sixth year of the reign of Darius the king." Ezra 6:15

Christianity has not been tried and found wanting; it has been found difficult and not tried.

Remember - Day 33

II Chronicles 23:16 - II Chronicles 35:15

King Hezekiah felt it in his heart to make a covenant with the Lord.

"Now it is in mine heart to make a covenant with the Lord God of Israel, that his fierce wrath may turn away from us." II Chr. 29:10

It influenced the people to have revival toward the house of the Lord. When they were done rebuilding and worshipping, there was such joy.

"So there was great joy in Jerusalem: for since the time of Solomon the son of David king of Israel there was not the like in Jerusalem." II Chr. 30:26

But they soon forgot.

Doesn't anyone see how good things are when God is on thier side? Do we just think it is because we are so good? Do we forget who is blessing us until the blessings are gone? Lord, help us to remember.

This was of God - Day 32

II Chronicles 7:11- II Chronicles 23:15

After Solomon dies, his son Rehoboam becomes king. Rehoboam gets advise from wise men about how to treat the people. Then he gets advise from his peers on how he should treat the people. He takes the advise of his peers and treats the people harshly and with a heavy burden. Consequently, this was all part of God's plan.

"So the king hearkened not unto the people: for the cause was of God, that the Lord might perform his word, which he spake by the hand of Ahijah the Shilonite to Jeroboam the son of Nebat."
II Chr. 10:15

When I think of God's plan for my life I think of all the good things. Good health, successful business, and the kids doing well in school.

I must say that when things are going horribly wrong my first thought is not how this might be fulfilling God's word in my life.

God's plan does not always make sense but as long as it is His plan, I know I am in good hands.

Prepare the Way - Day 31

I Chronicles 24:1 - II Chronicles 7:10

David had a heart to build God's house but God said no.

"But God said unto me, Thou shalt not build an house for my name, because thou hast been a man of war, and hast shed blood."
II Chr. 28:3

Now David could have pouted and thrown a fit about God's decision. He could have wasted years being angry with God and Solomon; However, he chose to get busy. He gathered the items, supplies, and tools for his son Solomon to build the temple.

"Now I have prepared with all my might for the house of my God the gold for things to be made of gold, and the silver for things of silver, and the brass for things of brass, the iron for things of iron, and wood for things of wood; onyx stones, and stones to be set, glistering stones, and of divers colours, and all manner of precious stones, and marble stones in abundance." I Chr. 29:2

Solomon has everything he could possibly need to build a house for the Lord. Solomon finishes the temple.

"Thus all the work that Solomon made for the house of the Lord was finished: and Solomon brought in all the things that David his father had dedicated; and the silver, and the gold, and all the instruments, put he among the treasures of the house of God."
II Chr. 5:1

Sometimes we are just the see sower. Our job is to just plant seeds for the Lord. We are preparing hearts for the Lord. Then someone else comes along and reaps the harvest. As long as God's plan is fulfilled, that is all that should matter. We are a part of something much greater.
