All these rules, the do's and don'ts. There are rules for everything. What to eat, what to wear and who to marry. All these rules are to separate the Israelites from the rest of the world. Then the building of the tabernacle, a place for God to dwell separated from the Israelites.
Separation, that is, until Jesus came and "the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom;" Matt. 27:51 KJB.
I see God wanting his people to know that he wants them to draw close to Him and not be like the world. A different and a peculiar people (Ex 19:5 KJB).
God wants me to separate myself from the world so that now through Jesus I can come boldly to the throne of grace and get closer to God. Less of the world and more of Him.
